Halloween Shoot

                                                                          Levitation

                                                                         Levitation

So here it is, a few examples from 2016 Halloween Shoot. Went back to a location I have used a couple of times, but just for wire wool spinning shots. It seemed to be the perfect place to add in some portraits to the mix, whilst using the wire wool to add effect.

The plan was just to try and get some levitation shots (see above), but one thing lead to another and it turned into more of a portrait style shoot

Once again thanks to Stu and Lauren for given up 2 saturday night's to perform the modelling roles. Also Thanks to Dan and Jonny for coming along and assisting with the photo's and carrying the gear to the tunnel. The full album will be available in the gallery page and also on Flickr and Facebook. Please leave a comment, as I would love to hear what you think of the shots.

Ford Focus Rolling Shoot

So I have become more interested in car photography more than ever recently. Having completed a Jessops Academy Motorsport day and also attending the Abingdon CARnival during the summer. I wanted to push my car photography further, I started to look into the world of rolling car photography. The turns out to be a very brave form of photography, as without the use of expensive camera rigs, as seen on programmes like Top Gear, the technique literally involves sitting in the passenger seat of a moving car whilst leaning out of the open window. When my friend Paul messaged me to say his Ford Focus RS was ready to have some photo's done. I jumped at the chance to try this technique out. He also brought along his friend Chris, who also had a shiny brand new Focus RS.

Here you can see just how far out of the car I was, although this effect is heightened by the wide angle lens.

After a few practice goes, adjusting shutter speed and aperture, it all started to come together and I began to get the shots I was after. My shot of the day is shown below and I used Adobe Lightroom to achieve the effect in the sky.

Bristol Balloon Fiesta Night Glow.

So on Wednesday we made a last minute decision to visit the Bristol Balloon Fiesta and experience the night glow.

I have to say it was a pretty spectacular site, to see all the balloons inflated and then the burners being operated in time to the music. Here is one of my favourite images. I have uploaded a few to the gallery or the full album can be checked out at https://flic.kr/s/aHskGjgyNg

My first magazine article

A couple of months ago, I was given the chance to photograph the Town Hall Brawl night in conjunction with the Twyford Boxing Club. It was my first attempt  at shooting anything like this, and found it challenging, but had a great time photographing the boxers.

Last month, I was approached by Joanne Suter, who was writing a promo article on the next event in September, she contacted me about using some of my photo's for the article, obviously I couldn't say no. Today the article was published and here is the article in print.

Flash and First Blog Post

Read a new article at the weekend, that involved light painting using flash and a large source of light, so last night I gave it a shot, using my company car as the model. Really happy with my first attempt, which involved taking a series of shots, then blending the images in photoshop, giving a seamless finish. If you have a nice car that you would like photographed, please get in touch for a quote, I would love to work with you to create a lasting image of your pride and joy.
